It’s early January. It’s cold, but it’s a beautiful day. There is even a sprinkling of snow to make everything more suggestive.
That abandoned castle in the Alps has over a thousand years of history and today it is still here, healthy and safe from wars, earthquakes and cataclysms. Yet someone has decided to end his story by abandoning him forever.
The owner was an eccentric millionaire and he had bought the ancient castle to renovate it and turn it into a museum. He sent a request to the municipality but the mayor did not allow the project. The two had a terrible quarrel and the millionaire declared war on the mayor, deciding to let the castle symbol collapse, this castle.
Its rooms are full of treasures, crystal chandeliers, fine furniture, wonderful stoves dating back to the 1500s.
What will become of this heritage? Will it dissolve over time or will someone do something to save it? … For now, it falls apart.
